The Making of Titanic (1997)
Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in lead roles. The modern day scenes of the expedition were shot on the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, a 6,240 ton Russian scientific research vessel, in July 1996. Principal photography for Titanic began in September 1996 at the newly-built Fox Baja Studios. The film was produced in $200 million (INR 1,100 crores) and it went on to earn a whopping $2.2 billion (INR 12,100 crores) shattering all records and became the biggest ever blockbuster of Hollywood history until then.
