Top guns of the Indian Air Force
The Mirage 2000 is a fighter and multi-role combat aircraft. The Dassault Mirage 2000 is also known as Vajra. The Sukhoi Su-30MKI is the IAF's primary air superiority fighter. The Sukhoi Su-30MKI has the capability to conduct strike missions. The MiG-29, also known as Baaz, is IAF's dedicated air superiority fighter. The MiG-29 aircraft are being upgraded to the MiG-29UPG standard. The MiG-21 serves as an Interceptor aircraft in the IAF. The IAF is in the process of phasing out MiG-21s. The Jaguar aircraft, also known as Shamsher, is a part of IAF's primary ground attack force. The Dornier Do 228 serves as light transport aircraft in the IAF. The HAL Chetak is a light utility helicopter and is used for training, rescue and light transport roles in the IAF. The IAF operates Boeing 737 as a VIP Transport.
