Saving the rhino
The President of Indonesia has declared 2012 to be the International Year of the Rhino. The move comes after growing worries about the world's rarest species of rhino, including Javan and Sumatran Rhinos that have been brought to the brink of extinction by hunting. Prince William has called people involved in the illegal trade of rhino horn "extremely ignorant, selfish and utterly wrong". Black rhinos are critically endangered in the wild because of the soaring price of rhino horn, which is worth more than gold due to demand in some countries.
