Greek Islands.
The Greek islands are a unique phenomenon in Europe. The island groups of the Aegean
Sea and the Ionian Sea.
There are so many Greek Islands, over 6,000 in fact, and so it is often difficult to choose
which one to take a holiday to. Some people like a lively holiday, with lots of lively activities,
The Dodecanese islands are a group of 14 different islands. Although access to them is not
always the easiest – with a ferry service running a few times a week – this is actually quite
a positive if you prefer the more secluded Greek Island.
The Dodecanese Islands are located in the southeast part of the Aegean Sea and consist of
twelve large islands and a number of smaller ones. Here you'll find the classic picture vision
of Greece; whitewashed houses, beautiful beaches, and attractive coastal villages.
Within the Dodecanese, Astypalaia is rarely visited by foreign tourists but is definitely a
hidden treasure. Karpathos is another quieter island that is well worth a visit. Additionally,
two islands which get great reviews for their authenticity, beauty and peace and quiet are
Syros and Amorgos – both are quiet and scenic, and offer a great holiday destination for
those who want to get away from it all.
